I repair the holes where possible and try to cut the pattern pieces to minimize stains. I believe these items should still be used instead of ending up in the landfill, but it means some of the clothing items I make have flaws, which I make sure are hardly noticeable. I like to think of them as extra character and a reminder of their past life. You can feel great wearing these items knowing they didn't end up in the landfill.
